Preview: Valencia vs  Barcelona

Barcelona will attempt to make it three wins from three La Liga games when they travel to the Mestalla to face Valencia on Sunday evening.

It has been a mixed start to the season for Valencia, picking up three points on the opening weekend of the season against Malaga, before losing to Espanyol last time out.

It has been a summer of change, meanwhile, with top scorer from last season Roberto Soldado seeking pastures new in the Premier League, but they do appear still to be searching for fresh blood in attack.

Barcelona, meanwhile, secured the Spanish Super Cup last week against Atletico Madrid courtesy of a 0-0 draw at the Camp Nou. As mentioned, they have also won both of their league fixtures, thumping Levante on the opening weekend before beating Malaga by the odd goal last time out.

The corresponding match last season ended in a 1-1 draw, but Barcelona were 1-0 winners on their own patch in September.

Helder Postiga should continue in attack for the home side, but Jonathan Viera and Sergio Canales are both pushing for inclusion from the start.

Barcelona are expected to recall Andres Iniesta to their starting side, with Neymar the most likely to drop out of the XI. Pedro could also come into the team in attack, but there is a slight doubt over the fitness of Dani Alves.

Juventus vs SS Lazio : Italian Super Cup Preview

Serie A Champions Juventus clash with Coppa Italia winners Lazio in the first real action on the Italian calendar. In the two teams' last meeting, Lazio triumphed 2-1 in the Coppa Italia semi-finals, going on to beat bitter rivals Roma in the title bout. This time around, the two teams face each other with new stakes and new faces.
Juventus vs Lazio
The biggest news of the fixture is the addition of strikers Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente for Juventus. Having had a successful 2012/13 campaign, the Bianconeri addressed their biggest weakness by signing Argentine Tevez from Manchester City and adding Spaniard Fernando Llorente on a free from Athletic Bilbao. With Llorente having sat out the majority of the campaign for Bilbao due to a dispute with the club over his exit, the giant hitman is understandably rusty, and not expected to get the starting nod in Sunday's match. Juventus' "MVP" trio of Claudio Marchisio, Arturo Vidal and deep-lying playmaker Andrea Pirlo will look to be the spark in midfield and provide service for Tevez and likely strike partner Mirko Vucinic, while their vaunted backline will hope to continue their solid form in front of legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.

MATCH PREVIEW :
So on the tenth day of this new Premier League season comes the first big match- the first coming together of two of last season's top four.
And of course the firsts also keep coming for Manchester United's new manager David Moyes - this is his bow with his new club at Old Trafford in the league. And as he himself pointed out, he was not doing any favors when the fixture computer served up Jose Mourinho's new Chelsea as his team's opponents.

Jose Mourinho has been down a similar path. Nine years ago to the month, in his first coming as the Chelsea manager, his first competitive match in charge was against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea won on that day with a first-half goal from Eidur Gudjohnsen against a United team which included Eric Djemba-Djemba, Quinton Fortune and Liam Miller in the starting line up. Nine months later, Chelsea were champions of England for the first time in fifty years.

And who will be Jose Mourinho's choice for Chelsea up front? Fernando Torres sat out their league game against Aston Villa last Wednesday, but he's not started either of their two matches against Manchester United at Old Trafford since perpetrating the most glaring of misses in front of the Stretford End when Andre Villas Boas' Chelsea were beaten 3-1 almost two years ago.
